It's personal. The act of painting and mark making informs and influences the epistemic causalities of my JTB (justified, true, beliefs).

Painting, and particularly abstract painting, has fueled my interest in how I make images as an artist. For years I have struggled with painting as a "current" practice in the context of the academic and contemporary art worlds. Recently, I've connected aesthetically and intellectually with how digital tools inform my interpretation and interaction with the world. The contrast between our technologically driven lives has shaped the way that I explore and question painting as a practice and contemporary voice. Time, space, and memories become salient in the narrative created by this collective contrast and has pointed to a new direction in my work.
